Access for Everyone
When Bernice Jones opened the Jones Center in 1995, she established a place where everyone could learn, play and thrive together.
Twenty-nine years later, we are proud to serve more than half a million visitors a year! And we are committed to see this number grow along with our welcoming, diverse community. One factor that stands in the way is cost. We often receive requests for financial assistance to enjoy programs, amenities and membership at the Jones Center.
That’s why we created Access for Everyone.
Access for Everyone provides qualifying children, families and individuals with reduced-cost memberships and activity fees. Help us remove cost as a barrier to fitness classes, summer camps, STEM learning, sports & recreation, ice skating, swimming, Learn to Ride classes and more.
The Jones Center is a nonprofit organization that relies largely on grants, gifts and donations. We need your help to grow funds for this access program.
Give your neighbors the gift of experiencing all that we offer at the Jones Center.
Your donation will make a difference, no matter the amount!
the Every Child Swims program
The Jones Center’s Every Child Swims program kicked off this fall in partnership with Jones Elementary. Third graders who didn’t pass a standard swim assessment are getting weekly lessons and will retake their swimming tests before summer break. You can be a part of this lifechanging initiative by donating now!
“We believe that every child deserves the chance to learn to swim,” said Jeff Poole, Director of Community Programs at the Jones Center. “Learning to swim is more than just a fun activity – it can be a lifechanging skill that opens doors for children and families and helps ensure water safety in our community.”
Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death for children ages 5-14, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Arkansas ranked sixth in the nation for overall drowning deaths. “Our goal is to expand this initiative into a district-wide program that offers free swimming lessons to every third grader in Springdale who needs them,” says Poole.
Thank you for investing in the community and our region!
