“At the Jones Center, we develop programs to meet our community’s needs. We are committed to lasting community impact, whether that be teaching a lifesaving skill or making programs financially accessible,” explains Lydia Corbell, Sr. Director of Programming & Engagement. “Our programs are designed to ensure everyone—at any age and in any stage of life—has an opportunity to learn, play and thrive.”

Some additional program specific highlights from 2024:

Every Child Swims: The Jones Center is committed to teaching community children lifesaving skills. Through a new partnership with Springdale’s Jones Elementary, third graders enjoyed a field trip to the Jones Center where their swim skills were tested. Of the 63 children tested only 13 were able to swim, making 50 children eligible for the program. Those who did not pass were enrolled in free after-school swim lessons for the school year. This pilot program is poised to serve more schools in 2025.

Youth & Adult Classes: The Jones Center offers more than 160 public programs designed to help all ages learn new skills and explore new hobbies.

Expanding Arts Programs: Jones Center founder Bernice Jones dreamed that the Jones Center would be a “major outlet for artistic expression.” Shared arts experiences are proven to strengthen community and support connections. The Jones Center is returning to its roots, expanding arts programming and reestablishing itself as a trusted community resource for artistic experience and expression for all.
