Specialty camps are a great option for learning something new or focusing on a skill. Each camp is unique – be sure to check dates, times and ages to make sure your child qualifies and that the camp fits your schedule. There are nine weeks of specialty camps. Dates, times and age requirements vary. We’ve grouped specialty camps in three categories and added quick identifiers with each camp’s description. You’ll find specialty camps featuring:

1. ADVANCED ICE SKATING
JUNE 3-5 | 8am to 3pm
Grades 1-12

Ready to skate circles around the competition? Grow your on-ice skills and polish those spins, jumps and edges. Our Advanced Ice Skating camp will help you take your ice skating expertise to the next level. All campers must bring a packed lunch each day. Prerequisite: Campers must have completed pre-Freeskate.

2. MISSION TO MARS IN PARTNERSHIP THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

Embark on a journey to reach the red planet! At this immersive camp, you’ll explore the science behind space travel, build a rover to navigate challenging terrain and develop a communications system between would-be astronauts and mission control. Learn engineering principles, while developing an understanding of the challenges (and excitement!) of space exploration.

Aspiring game makers! Learn foundational design concepts like gameplay mechanics, storytelling and aesthetics to create your very own playable video! Presented by the University of Arkansas College of Engineering, this camp lets tech learners brainstorm game ideas, design compelling characters and worlds, and incorporate inclusivity and diversity into their designs. 4. NEXT LEVEL SOCCER
JUNE 10-14 | 8am to 12pm

Join us on the field for Next Level Soccer camp. Let the pros from Next Level teach you how to dribble, shoot, defend and pass, while honing your coordination and developing confidence. Sign up now and get ready to score big!

5. LEARN TO SKATE
JUNE 10-14 | 8am to 12pm, 8am to 4pm

Learn to Skate camp is for beginners who are interested in figure skating, ice hockey or just having fun on the ice. You’ll learn basic techniques like forward skating, backward skating, stopping, turning and more. At the end of the week, you’ll showcase what you’ve learned at a special performance for parents! Campers must bring a packed lunch each day.

6. ARKANSAS RAZORBACK TWIRLING
JUNE 19-21 | 8am to 12pm
Grades 1-12

Experience the fun and challenge of baton twirling in this camp led by the University of Arkansas Razorback Twirlers! From basic twirls to more advanced routines, Razorback Twirlers will guide you every step of the way. Please bring your own baton for this camp. Families who need assistance, please contact Bree Bossier.

7. BROADWAY FULL OUT
JUNE 17-21 | 8am to 12pm
Grades 6-12
$150 (members $120)

All the world’s a stage, and at The Jones Center, you’re the star! In our Broadway Full Out camp, budding performers will train in three musical theater disciplines -- dancing, singing and acting, with no stage experience necessary. Work with our theater experts to produce a show that will be performed on the last day of camp. No more waiting in the wings! Take your place in the spotlight and let the show begin!

8. CLIMB IT! (Update: Camp is Full)
JUNE 24-28 | 8am to 5pm
Grades 3-9

Take your sporting skills to new heights! Learn the basics of climbing and bouldering with no experience necessary. This camp will teach valuable outdoor lessons and ethics, like leaving no trace and basic first aid, underscoring the importance of taking care of the planet, ourselves and others. Classes are held on and off The Jones Center campus. Come climb with us!

9. WIZE COMPUTING ACADEMY: LEGO ROBOTICS (Update: Camp is Full)
JULY 8-11 | 8am to 12pm
Grades 1-3
$199 (members $159.20)

Are you interested in robots and how they work? At LEGO Robotics camp, you’ll learn how to build a robot of your own and program it to do fun things! Parents, this is a great way for kids to learn basic engineering and coding concepts, while preparing them for robotic competitions, like the FIRST LEGO League.

10. WIZE COMPUTING ACADEMY: CODING WITH VIRTUAL REALITY
JULY 15-18 | 8am to 12pm
Grades 4-6

This immersive program is the ultimate playground for tech-savvy kids! Let us introduce you to the captivating world of coding with virtual reality, where you’ll explore new dimensions, create immersive experiences and unleash your creativity like never before. By exploring the intersection of coding and spatial computing, you’ll develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities as well as future-ready skills that can open doors to an exciting career.

11. CAMP COMEDY
JULY 22-26 | 8am to 5pm

Are you the life of the party? Do you love making your friends and family laugh? Bring out your inner improv comedian while having a blast at Camp Comedy. Our expert instructors will help you develop skills like thinking on your feet, conquering stage fright and delivering lines with confidence. Laugh until your sides hurt while learning the value of creative collaboration and teamwork. The week will end with an improv comedy performance in front of a live audience.   

12. BALLIN’ OUT BASKETBALL
AUGUST 5-9 | 8am to 12pm
Grades 1-6

Learn the basics of basketball at Ballin’ Out Basketball camp. This action-packed week of hoops will help develop skills in dribbling, shooting, passing and teamwork. All skill levels welcome. Whether you’re a future NBA star or just starting out, Ballin’ Out Basketball camp is a perfect slam dunk!

Ages 10-14

Don’t know how to swim? No problem! This camp will turn water-wary tadpoles into confident swimmers in no time! Learn to Swim is reserved for kids with no swimming experience. Through hands-on instruction and fun-filled lessons, learn fundamental techniques like floating, treading water, submerging, kicking and moving through the water.
